Daily Sails

What do other guests say?

Pictured at the wheel on July 9, 2004 with Tom and Kay are Robert and Barbara Lah of Albuquerque,                                                                                                            New Mexico. Robert was the 50,000 passenger to sail on the Lannon. He was given a prize package of                                                                                          Schooner Lannon memorabilia to commemorate his lucky sail.

I just have to let you know how much we enjoyed the afternoon sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon on Thursday, July 29th. It is a beautiful ship, and fulfilled a dream of a lifetime to experience such a voyage. It was the highlight of our vacation in the "north of Boston" area. What a glorious time we had, enhanced by Brian's skillful story telling. He is a wonderful young man, and I know you are very proud of him. I hope we will be able to return to the area in the future, and surely will see you again at that time. Thank you so much, and the best of luck to you and your family. Continue to have a wonderful life!

Sincerely,
Carol Williamson

Dear Tom, Kay and all the Crew,

I just wanted you to know what a great trip we had on your Schooner. We were up for a visit from South Carolina and only had so much time to do too many things. My son was very excited about going and I really just went to satisfy him. Well I will be the first to admit I had a GREAT time. I am so glad that I gave in to my son's request as this is one of our best experiences of our whole trip! My son helped to raise the sails and I totally relaxed. The crew were great and the storytelling only added to the mood... Thank you for such wonderful memories.

Sincerely, Kristin Muise

Dear Tom and Kay,

My family and I were on the Schooner during the first Lobsterbake of the season on Friday, July 5. What a wonderful and memorable night for us. The atmosphere, beautiful boat, menu and drinks were perfect. The staff was entertaining (no more than my husband) and service outstanding. My husband, Rick, will never forget raising the sails, the jib (?) and then putting on his kitchen helper hat to hold the watermelon for you, Kay (when staff was enjoying watching you struggle to cut it while the boat was swaying!). You all made us feel like part of one big happy family.

Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had. It was a milestone for us landlubbers and eating our first real homemade clam chowder and fresh lobster was delicious and well worth it. Move over Red Lobster! It made our mouths water for more!

Thank you, Kay and Tom and staff, for all the hard work and hospitality to make our ride on the lovely Lannon unforgettable.

Sincerely, Amy Haviland, Syracuse, New York

My great great great aunt fell in love with a whaler who gave her a ring of marriage promise before he sailed from this port in 1765. His great masted ship never came home and the ring I wear on a chain around my neck in this year of May, 2007 in memory of the aunt who never married, but waited til her death at 82 for her lover to return.

Capt. Tom and Kay,

I just wanted to let you know how much Andy and I have enjoyed sailing with you. Both times we've been out with you, it's been part of a perfect day. We spent part of our first date on an afternoon sail, and then joined you again for a sunset sail this summer.

Everything is perfect, the wind, the stories, letting us help set the sails. You've helped make one of my favorite experiences on the North Shore.

I wanted to write a quick note to let you know how much I enjoyed going out on the boat with you. I am from Nebraska so you will have to excuse me for not using the correct terms. I did not grow up with water or boats so it was a treat to get out on such a beautiful schooner. I went on a Sunday trip and we had the best time. I went with my friend and her parents, they have been boating forever. You may remember us, we were the ones from Manchester. I think you were at the club the night before our trip. Again, I really wanted to thank you for a wonderful day and for the memories I will have of my first ride on a schooner.

Thanks Again,
Kelli Covert
P.S. I bought a t-shirt to remind me how beautiful your boat is.

Just wanted to say thanks for a great trip on Oct. 11. We were up visiting my sister, I brought my 15 year old daughter, and in a weak moment told her she could bring her two 15 year old friends. When we started out for the trip, they were thinking just some old boat trip, and they got into a 15 year old, "I don't really want to do this mood, but have to because my aunt and mother are making us." My sister warned you about three obnoxious teenagers, when we bought the tickets. Well, you took care of the 3 obnoxious kids, right off the bat. Thank you, you made my day, and made my trip and life easy for a few hours. It turned out they had a fantastic time, and I believe it was the highlight of their trip. Something they have never done and probably won't get to do again. My daughter might when we get to Mass. again. I doubt I will be bringing any of her friends along!

Dear Captain Tom and Crew,

My husband and I would like to thank you all for a wonderful cruise last night aboard your ship. We couldn't have hoped for a more beautiful evening and sail complete with music and good company. It made our anniversary celebration very special and for that we are grateful. Thank you also for the kind words and service brought to us through the Gloucester House Restaurant.

Warm wishes and Good Sailing,
Finn and Jody Arnold

This is just a little note to say thanks to all of you for a really great day! My wife and I had what we consider to be one of the best times of our lives together!! We can't wait until next year! I've enclosed a memento of the day-some of the people on deck will be familiar, I'm sure. Anyway, thanks again and we'll see you in the Spring!

Sincerely,
Peter and Andrea Pellegrino

Dear Kay,

Once again, I'd like you to know how much we enjoyed sailing on the Thomas E. Lannon. The ship is lovely and the weather was fine, but it was the welcoming attitude of the Captain and Crew that made it such a great experience. We'll be back, I assure you!

Best Regards,
October
