Daily Sails

What do our charterers and group leaders say?

Kay,

I want to thank your family and crew for a great experience. Everyone agreed that this was our best company outing yet. A day on the Schooner Lannon was just what our team needed to get re-energized.

I'm looking forward to organizing a trip for my family and friends. Thank you.

Jeff Dearing,

DYS Analytics, Wellesley

Dear Kay,

Thank you for a fabulous experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our charter. It was a wonderful touch to have the guests help raise the sails. The kids (and the adults!) loved it.

Guests are still raving about the party. Believe it or not, my 2 1/2 year old daughter still talks about "Daddy's birthday boat." You and your crew helped make Brad's 30th birthday one to remember. Thank you and happy sailing.

Yours truly, Tina Schell

Just wanted to thank you so much for your patience and your expertise and your enthusiasm! You helped me to make a very special event for someone who is very dear to me! Thank you again!

Dear Kay,

I write to extend a great big "thank you" to you and Tom for your cooperation and leadership in planning and conducting our Grade 5 learning from the Adventure Program. All of the comments that I have received from teachers, students, and administrators were very positive and end with "We must do this again next year and in years to come". Thank you once again.

Best Wishes, Thomas A. Consolati

Dear Kay and Tom,

On behalf of the GHS Class of 1956 reunion committee, I'd like to thank you for the wonderful sunset cruise the evening of August 5th. It delighted us all-especially those from out of state who hadn't experienced the ocean breezes and views of Gloucester from the harbor.

Faye Brophy

Dear Kay and Tom,

I wanted to thank you so much for making our wedding so perfect and very memorable. All of our guests had a wonderful time and couldn't stop talking about how fun the sailing was. Thank you again. We love the Lannon!

Dear Tom,

Just wanted to drop you a short note to let you know how very much our Village Tours Group enjoyed our sail on the Thomas Lannon this past June. We will be bringing another group aboard at approximately the same time next year. We hope you have much success in the future and we look forward to seeing you again.

With warm regards,

Dear Kay,

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you and your staff for what was a great sail on August 16th. Everyone on board thoroughly enjoyed it and we certainly had what everyone was calling "the perfect sail." You and your staff did a great job and we all look forward to coming back next year.

Thanks once again for helping to make our outing a very memorable day for everyone at New England PET.

Sincerely,

Dear Tom and Kay,

From all of us at AMMG, please know how much we enjoyed our sail with you aboard the Thomas E. Lannon Tuesday.

The voyage outside the breakwater with heavy seas made our day, and provided most on board with an experience they will never forget. I also think all came away with a reminder of what our great Gloucester fishermen had to endure and the risks involved in such 'sailing era' fishing.

You all did a great job entertaining and serving us in such unusual conditions-Keep Her Going-we'll be back!

Best,

R. Michael Wall Director,

American Marine Model Gallery

Dear Kay, Tom and the Crew:

Huge thank yous to all of you for a terrific day. You all outdid yourselves and our team is still talking about how much fun they had. We will definitely be back and thinking about how we can get our clients out for the day.

The Hale Group

Thanks Tom, Kay and Heath,

This was an experience none of us will ever forget-thanks so much for adapting to our teambuilding agenda! You were all fantastic-GREAT CREW!!

Dear Tom and Kay,

On July 31 I had a surprise 50th birthday party for my husband aboard the Lannon. It was the best night we ever had! Our guests had a wonderful time, and Mike is still talking about the best birthday he has ever had. For him it was a dream come true. Right from the beginning--from your great website to the very friendly phone conversations I had with you and your son. Everything went smoothly. You and your captain and crew were wonderful to us. Our two children were in charge of getting the food there and you couldn't have been nicer or more helpful to them. I can't thank you enough for all your help. We will certainly recommend to all that a night on the Schooner Lannon is a wonderful treat for any occasion! We hope to make it back there before the end of the summer for one of your music cruises.

Again, thanks to all for a wonderful evening and for helping to make Mike's 50th a birthday he will never forget!

Sincerely, Debbie Hughes

P.S. What a very special moment it was when his Dad's flag was raised up with the sails! Mike felt that his Dad was right there with us. Thank you.

Dear Kay and Tom,

Thank you very much for a wonderful night. My mother is still talking about it. (The sail was for her mom's 80th birthday party). Great job!

Carol Hill, The Yankee Fleet

Dear Tom and Kay,

As always, the Mariposa staff had a wonderful time aboard the Lannon. you and your crew are always so accommodating. And Tom, you really did a nice job with the weather - Bravo!!! If there wasn't any wind, we didn't notice.

Many thanks for an all around beautiful evening.

See you again next year.

All the best,

Beth Burgess

Thanks so much to all of you who made our wonderful cruise on Tuesday, the 3rd of July, possible. All of the VST employees were so impressed. We had a wonderful time - and thanks to you - I got lots of appreciation. I don't know how you manage your contacts with the weather - but they are sure powerful. We had a perfect day and didn't see a cloud until we got off the boat! I hope we can make this an annual event. Many thanks again for your hospitality. We loved our day at sea.

Dear Kay and Tom,

On behalf of the St. Peter's Fiesta Committee it is my pleasure to express our gratitude to you for your support during the 2001 St. Peter's Fiesta.

Your contribution of the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon for Cardinal Bernard Law's Blessing of the boats in Gloucester harbor was truly appreciated. Despite the calls for bad weather, your commitment was firm. The hospitality you extended to everyone aboard was upstanding. Thank you for a job well done.

Sincerely,

Dear Kay, Tom and Erin,

We would like to take a moment to thank all of you for a wonderful afternoon last Saturday aboard the Thomas E. Lannon. I know I can speak for the entire group when I say that we all had a great time. And we could not have picked a better crew!

We are already talking about doing it again next summer! Thanks again-everything was perfect.

Sandy, Jack, and everyone at Sideband Systems

Dear Kay,

Again, we want to thank you for a great trip. When I talked to you the first time I knew we were in for a Great Day, but I had no idea just how Great!!!

We all said that you people are truly blessed to be able to do something you love so much. My manager sent me an email saying this was the best outing yet and your schooner cinched it for everyone. Again many thanks- I'm sure we'll see you again.

Dear Ellis Family and crew,

On behalf of the Gentia Software Sales and Marketing team, thank you so much for the terrific sail last Friday evening, July 17th. Everyone had an incredible time and enjoyed everything the Schooner Lannon had to offer. You are all wonderful hosts and made the sail especially fun. The lobsterbake on board was also a great success. We would love to come back and visit you and your beautiful schooner again sometime.

Warm regards,

Lori Kerr

Dear Tom and Kay,

What a wonderful memory you gave us! Seeing my father at the wheel and how happy he was having his family around him. It was a perfect sail, so calm, refreshing, new. We won't forget it....Your schooner ride was the frosting on their 50th anniversary party! They'll talk about this for years to come. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Dear Kay and Tom,

Thank you for working with us to take the Keystone Leadership Forum participants out on the Lannon. We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously and it was a perfect introduction to Gloucester. Thank you again for all your hard work.

Dear Tom and Kay:

Just wanted to let you know how very much all of the residents of Brookhaven enjoyed our cruise/lobsterbake. Your entire family was so gracious to all of us, making each person feel so special. I just can't begin to tell you how nice it was for many of the residents to be out on the sea.

I can certainly understand the pride you have in your vessel...and most importantly the pride you must have in your family! Both are very special.

We already know we want to go back in June for a half-day sail. I'll spread the news among the other retirement communities that the Lannon Schooner is a must do trip!

Again, thank you for your hospitality. I'm looking forward to sailing with you in 1999.

Best regards,

Cathy McGilvray Director, Resident Activities

Dear Tom and Kay:

On behalf of my entire crew, we wish to extend our sincere thanks to you and your crew for making our voyage to Salem a highlight of our summer.

The schooner sailed beautifully and we were all most impressed with the authenticity of her design, construction, and rigging. She is a vessel we can all be most proud of, and thank you again for the privilege to sail aboard her.

Continued fair winds,

Dear Tom and Kay:

From all reports, it was one of the best gatherings we ever had!! They thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Thanks for everything, especially the weather. Next time we'll plan a longer sail.

Dear Kay, Tom & Brian,

Our evening aboard the Lannon was just wonderful. You've done a wonderful job realizing your dream and extending it to the lucky rest of us. What a great enterprise for Gloucester harbor-it is a beautiful, positive message to send out to visitors from other cities and towns. We believe that the Lannon is just what you want to see out there on the water. We hope it is as good for you as it is for all of us who get to be on it and even just look at it.

We wish you great success and we'll definitely be back.

Sincerely,

Susan and Bill Copeland

Kay & Tom-

Thanks for a great day! Everyone was delighted. It's a great venue for a gathering! We are passing the word!!

Dear Kay and Tom:

We just wanted to thank you for a very enjoyable day sailing aboard the Lannon. It was a special opportunity for our members, many of whom have watched the schooner through its various stages of construction, to actually come aboard and see it in action.

The project was a great undertaking, and we congratulate you for your accomplishment. We are delighted that Greenbelt was able to be a part of it.

Again, thanks for a wonderful afternoon and we wish you great success with the Lannon!

Sincerely,

Ed Becker, Executive Director Essex County Greenbelt Association

Dear Kay and Tom,

Everyone enjoyed the cruise. The weather was perfect!! Thanks for everything. We're looking forward to another private charter next year. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Sincerely,

Kathy and Eddie Colbert

Dear Tom and Kay,

We had a bad weather day but our sail inside the harbor was most pleasant-no high waves, no seasickness. We were lucky to even get a harbor cruise in-rain was in torrents, but stopped for our cruise. Crew was just wonderful and most cooperative. Hope to plan another sail for next season. Enjoy your winter.

Dear Tom and Kay,

Our Dad's last trip was perfect...to go home to the sea on the Thomas E. Lannon. Such a beautiful tribute to a man who spent his entire life as a fisherman.

We believe Dad was smiling as he watched his grandchildren and great grandchildren help raise the sails and as he watched his great grandchild at the wheel, next to your warm caring Captain Steele, whom we learned had just made the same trip for his mother.

Tom and Kay, thank you for your kindness that you shared with each member of our family. You truly are beautiful people.

May the Thomas E. Lannon, Captain Steele, Tom and Kay sail calm seas, and bring happiness and comfort to all its passengers.

Fair winds and following seas,

In grateful appreciation,

The family of Ralph Pete Goulart

Dear Tom:

I want to thank you for a wonderful day on the Thomas E. Lannon. All the teens really enjoyed it and were very excited about the beginning of their Ocean project leading to the Wang Center.

The crew were all very hospitable and kind to the kids and we couldn't have asked for a better day. I can't wait to see the video taken on board, and its place in the final year long documentary.

Thanks again and hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Paula Belezos Conrad Express Yourself

Dear Tom and Kay:

Thank you so much for a fantastic evening on your beautiful boat. Everyone in our group enjoyed the sunset cruise immensely, and I'm sure you will be hearing from us again. You and the crew made every effort to share your knowledge and love of sailing with our guests. I enjoyed hearing about the construction of the boat in the old Essex yard, and talking to Tom about the paint factory. Your vision, boat and professional charter service are the best things that have happened to the Gloucester waterfront in a long time. Keep up the good work!

Very truly yours,

Geoffrey A. Curtis, Fourth Middlesex Bar Association

I can't say enough about the assistance Kay offered throughout the whole process of organizing the event for my company. She was extremely helpful, above and beyond expectation! It was her recommendations that contributed to making the outing so wonderful! Also, the crew was absolutely delightful. They were extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions abut sailing, etc. The boat itself is beautiful, clean, well-kept, etc. I would take my group sailing again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for a wonderful, memorable day!!!
