Join the Ellis family ... for a relaxing sail on our authentic wooden schooner. Sit back and take it easy or burn some calories by helping the crew raise the sails. We guarantee that your sail will be one of the highlights of your trip to Cape Ann.

Imagine...

...a trip back in time.  The Schooner Lannon will transport you back to another time. Picture yourself sailing out of Gloucester on a vessel like this a hundred years ago. The Lannon was built and launched in 1997, but her lines were taken from those of a swordfishing vessel from 1903. Your trip will be relaxing and you'll love listening to the quiet as the schooner glides smoothly along.

...the sail of your choice. Whether you choose to unwind with a stress-relieving two-hour sail, a music cruise or a sunset lobsterbake sail, your whole family will enjoy your trip onboard the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon. Join us on Saturday mornings in July and August and your kids can sail for free (one per adult). Come on a Tuesday in July and August and you can get your second ticket at half-price.

...your own private sail. Or charter the Lannon for your own  private party. The Lannon hosts corporate outings and teambuilding sails, client and/or employee appreciation sails, birthday and anniversary parties, family reunions, weddings, rehearsal dinners. You name it. The Schooner Lannon is a great place for a party.

Read on from letters we’ve received:

“I just wanted you to know what a great trip we had on your Schooner. We were up for a visit from South Carolina and only had so much time to do too many things. My son was very excited about going and I really just went to satisfy him. Well I will be the first to admit I had a GREAT time. I am so glad that I gave in to my son's request as this is one of our best experiences of our whole trip! My son helped to raise the sails and I totally relaxed. The crew were great and the storytelling only added to the mood... Thank you for such wonderful memories”. –Kristin Muise

“My family and I were on the Schooner during the first Lobsterbake of the season on Friday, July 5. What a wonderful and memorable night for us. The atmosphere, beautiful boat, menu and drinks were perfect. The staff was entertaining (no more than my husband) and service outstanding. My husband, Rick, will never forget raising the sails, the jib (?) and then putting on his kitchen helper hat to hold the watermelon for you, Kay (when staff was enjoying watching you struggle to cut it while the boat was swaying!). You all made us feel like part of one big happy family. Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had. It was a milestone for us landlubbers and eating our first real homemade clam chowder and fresh lobster was delicious and well worth it. Move over Red Lobster! It made our mouths water for more! Thank you, Kay and Tom and staff, for all the hard work and hospitality to make our ride on the lovely Lannon unforgettable.”--Amy Haviland, Syracuse, New York
