Tall Ships and Sail Boston 2009 and 2000

Fair Jeanne, a Canadian brigantine
sails in company of the Lannon in the Parade of Sail into Boston Harbor
that kicked off Sail Boston 2000.
You may remember that from July 11-July 16, 2000, the Tall Ships were in
Boston. This was an amazing gathering of ships from all over the world,
between legs of two transatlantic races. Plans were in the works for a
long time for this major event to happen. We had a blast being in
Boston for the week to participate in this event.
They're doing it again in 2009.
The Lannon plans to participate in Sail
Boston, July 8-12, 2009.
The Lannon will be available for private charter in Boston harbor during the
week of Tall Ships Boston 2009. What better place for your company outing than
on the Lannon for a private sail in Boston harbor.
Already, nearly 50 ships have signed up to take part in this event. It will
be a spectacle as we all sail into the Boston harbor together on July 13th. We
are available for private charter that day and every other day that week. You
will get to see these magnificent vessels up close. Call us and we'll fill you
in on details.

Boston is an official port of the Tall Ships Atlantic
Challenge 2009. This trans-Atlantic regatta follows the traditional trading
route of sailing ships of the past. The race begins in Vigo, Spain, where the
vessels will race 900 nautical miles south southwest to Tenerife in the Canary
Islands. The next leg of the race is 2600 nautical miles west to Bermuda. Then
it is on to Charleston, South Carolina, then Boston. From here, the ships sail
in company 370 miles north northeast to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Finally, the
last leg of the race is 2350 nautical miles across the North Atlantic to
Belfast, Northern Ireland. Celebrations are planned in every port along the way,
and Boston will be no different.
Organize your friends or family or colleagues. You'll remember
this trip for your lifetime.
