Feature Trips

Lobsterbakes

During the summer months if the Lannon is not privately chartered, we offer Saturday Sunset Lobsterbakes, with clam chowder, steamers and mussels, cornbread, corn-on-the-cob, boiled red potatoes, cornbread, and either baked chicken or boiled lobster with all the fixings prepared by the Gloucester House Restaurant and served onboard as we anchor out in Gloucester harbor.

After our feast, we'll raise the sails and head off. We serve watermelon for dessert as we return under sail at sunset. Beautiful!! This two and one-half hour trip leaves the Gloucester House on Saturday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m. We offer this trip only in July and August. Plan to join us this summer for an unforgettable New England experience. What a feast! What great FUN!

Tickets are $77.50/adults, $72.50/seniors, $65/kids. A one-half baked chicken can be substituted for the lobster if you wish. Please state your preference when making your reservation. We take reservations as far as two weeks in advance and up until 4:00 p.m. on the day of the lobsterbake sail. Call your family, call your friends, then call us to make your reservations.

We schedule sunset lobsterbake sails on Saturday nights only in July and August. We leave the dock at 6:00 and return by 8:30. Put this on your list of "Things to do next Summer" and call us two weeks in advance.

It's a seafood feast and a great way to enjoy Gloucester harbor at sunset. Plan to join us in 2008.

Words of satisfied lobsterbake customers:

Dear Kay,

My family and I were on the Schooner during the first Lobsterbake of the season on Friday, July 5. What a wonderful and memorable night for us. The atmosphere, beautiful boat, menu and drink were perfect. The staff was entertaining (no more than my husband) and service outstanding. My husband, Rick, will never forget raising the sails, the jib (?) and then putting on his kitchen helper hat to hold the watermelon for you, Kay (when staff was enjoying watching you struggle to cut it while the boat was swaying!). You all made us feel like part of one big happy family.

Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had. It was a milestone for us landlubbers and eating our first real homemade clam chowder and fresh lobster was delicious and well worth it. Move over Red Lobster! It made our mouths water for more!

Thank you, Kay and Tom and staff, for all the hard work and hospitality to make our ride on the lovely Lannon unforgettable.

Sincerely,

Amy Haviland

Dear Tom and Kay,

Just a quick note to let you know how memorable and enjoyable our trip and Lobsterbake was!! The food could not have been more delicious, the schooner was beautiful and the evening spent sailing Gloucester waters, GORGEOUS! Thanks again for all your effort and hospitality. Hope to see you soon!

Dear Tom and Kay:

Just wanted to let you know how very much all of the residents of Brookhaven enjoyed our cruise/lobsterbake on Friday. Your entire family was so gracious to all of us, making each person feel so special. I just can't begin to tell you how nice it was for many of the residents to be out on the sea. I can certainly understand the pride you have in your vessel...and most importantly the pride you must have in your family! Both are very special...Again, thank you for your hospitality. I'm looking forward to sailing with you....

Best regards,

Cathi McGilvray
